The answer is, from data.

We generate vast amounts of data, from the text messages, emails, and social media postings we send to the images and movies we snap on our phones. Millions of sensors in our homes, cars, communities, public transportation networks, and factories continue to generate more data.

All of this information may be used by data scientists to train machine learning models that can make predictions and inferences based on the associations found in the data.
